টাইমস স্কয়ারে উদযাপিত হবে বঙ্গবন্ধুর ১০০ তম জন্মোৎসব

বাংলা নিউস রিপোর্ট ২৪: নিউ ইয়র্কের টাইমস স্কয়ারে বঙ্গবন্ধুর শততম জন্মোৎসব উদযাপন করবে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র আওয়ামী লীগ।যুক্তরাষ্ট্র আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি ড. সিদ্দিকুর রহমান বলেন, ‘টাইমস স্কয়ারে চার ঘণ্টাব্যাপী বঙ্গবন্ধুর ১০০তম জন্মোৎসব উদযাপিত হবে।

টাইমস স্কয়ারের কেন্দ্র দুইশত ফুট ওপরে আলোকসজ্জার মাধ্যমে বঙ্গবন্ধুর প্রতিকৃতি ফুটিয়ে তোলা হবে। বিলবোর্ডে ভেসে উঠবে শেখ মুজিবের ছবি। গাওয়া হবে বঙ্গবন্ধুকে নিয়ে রচিত গান। মূল আলোচনাটি হবে টাইমস স্কয়ারের অদূরে পাঁচতারকা হোটেলে।

জানা যায়,  এই অনুষ্ঠান সফল এবং সার্থক করার লক্ষ্যে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র আওয়ামী লীগ ও সহযোগী সংগঠনের নেতাকর্মীরা দিনরাত কাজ করে চলেছেন।  সিদ্দিকুর রহমান বলেন, আমার বিশ্বাস আমরা বিশ্ববাসীকে দেখিয়ে দিতে পারব বাংলাদেশের মানুষ তার জাতির জনককে কতটা ভালোবাসে।’

বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের শততম জন্মবার্ষিকী উদযাপন উপলক্ষে বাংলাদেশে দু’টি কমিটি গঠন করা হচ্ছে। একটি উচ্চ পর্যায়ের নাগরিক কমিটি, অপরটি আওয়ামী লীগের। বছরব্যাপী এ কর্মসূচি পালনে জাতীয় অধ্যাপক রফিকুল ইসলামকে প্রধান করে একটি উচ্চ পর্যায়ের নাগরিক কমিটি গঠন করা হয়েছে।

অনুষ্ঠানে সদস্য সচিব হিসেবে আছেন সাবেক মুখ্যসচিব কবি ড. কামাল আবদুল নাসের চৌধুরী। আওয়ামী লীগের কমিটিতে সভানেত্রী শেখ হাসিনাকে চেয়ারম্যান ও দলের সাধারণ সম্পাদক ওবায়দুল কাদেরকে সদস্য সচিব করা হয়েছে।

উৎসবে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকবেন একুশে ফেব্রুয়ারি গানের গীতিকার ও রাজনীতি বিশ্লেষক আব্দুল গাফ্ফার চৌধুরী।

প্রধান বক্তা হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকবেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার অবৈতনিক তথ্য-যোগাযোগ ও প্রযুক্তিবিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা সজীব ওয়াজেদ জয়। বঙ্গবন্ধুর শততম জন্মোৎসব সফল করার জন্য দলে সভাপতি ড. সিদ্দিকুর রহমানের নেতৃত্বে কাজ শুরু হয়েছে। ২০২০ সালের ১৭ মার্চ বঙ্গবন্ধুর শততম জন্মদিন।

২০২০ সালের ১৭ মার্চ বঙ্গবন্ধুর জন্মদিন থেকে শুরু হয়ে শেষ হবে ২০২১ সালের ২৬ মার্চ স্বাধীনতার সুবর্ণজয়ন্তীতে। শেখ হাসিনা ২০২০ সালকে ‘মুজিব বর্ষ’ হিসেবে উদযাপনের ঘোষণা দিয়েছেন।

উল্লেখ্য, জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান ১৯২০ সালের ১৭ মার্চ গোপালগঞ্জের টুঙ্গীপাড়ায় জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তার নেতৃত্বে ৯ মাস যুদ্ধের পর ১৯৭১ সালের ১৬ ডিসেম্বর বাংলাদেশ স্বাধীনতা অর্জন করে।

On March 17, 2020, the beginning of Bangabandhu's birthday will end on March 26, 2021, in the Golden Jubilee of Independence. Sheikh Hasina announced the celebration of 2020 as 'Mujib Barsha'.

Note that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born on March 17, 1920, in Tungipara in Gopalganj. After 9 months of war under his leadership, Bangladesh achieved independence on 16 December 1971.
